I officially joined NAPO today!! That is the National Association of Professional Organization. This marks a huge step forward for me. The website www.napo.net is a great resource for organizing help. I suggest that you go to the site and see what it has to offer and enjoy.

I have for you today before AND after pics of my laundry/utility room and my bedroom closet. The bedroom is not going to be the way I want as long as I have ebay stuff in there, but for now that is where it has to live. I am HAPPY now, however, that I can actually get to what I am looking for!!! YAY ME!!

The water heater in the laundry room didn’t get photographed in the before pic, but take my word for it… this is an improvement. It was completely covered with cluttered all the way up to the cabinets… now it is completely cleared off.

Sunday’s Progress

So, I actually took some pictures today of the places that need the most help. I started tackling the utility/laundry room and it was a beast! I have stuff all over my dining room table and hope that I will finish that off tonight. This room gets so much extraneous stuff dumped into that it not surprising that I have to go through a declutter in there a few times a year. My goal is to get it straight and keep it that way. I will post pics tomorrow. Hope you’ll come by and look.

Wow, I wish I had taken “before” pics of my boys room last week. They had so much stuff strewn from here to yonder. My oldest really likes arts and crafts but the system of having boxes for each category was not working. He still ended up not putting things back. My solution is zip baggies in a large bin. This way everything craft and art related is in that bin and nowhere else. So, that means that the bottom line is… if it is art or craft related that bin is where it is RETURNED to. Trying to make it super simple for my sweet ADD boy. The closet will have big bins in it, but at least it will not be 5 feet high with all sorts of toys, crafts, and clothes. It took all day to get through most of that and it is still not done.

I have my bedroom closet, my craft closet, the playroom, the kitchen, and my utility/laundry room at the top of my list of things that need desperate work!! My bedroom closet is full of ebay listed items as well as storage and clothing. It is a sad, sad place! As I’ve said my home is small and I just have to learn that there are some things that just cannot continue to take place here, or take up space here. It is a hard reality to face ;-(

At least I have done some laundry and gone grocery shopping today. I had so much more planned but it didn’t quite get done….

I live in an 1100 square foot home with my husband, 2 adorable boys, 3 cats, and a crazy dog. To say the least we are hard pressed to find a way to live and function in a home that has little storage and a mom with ADD who is desperately trying to find ways to stay motivated and energized to get it all together. At 39, it hasn’t happened yet, but I am a hopeful girl and I’m always hoping I will one day slay the beast…. clutter!!
